Datcom Raise £2500 for Air Ambulance

By

Datcom has raised £2,500 to support the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance to help in the mission to save lives across the East Midlands.

After making the Air Ambulance ‘Charity of the Year’ in June 2021, the Datcom team has been busy all year raising funds. We’ve taken part in host of activities over the last 12 months including a Skipathon, a silent auction, team quizzes, a baby photo competition and dress-up days.

As a charity, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance receives no direct Government funding and relies solely on public donations to fund their day-to-day operations. Yet, in order to maintain operations in attending some of the most serious and critical 999 calls in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, the charity must raise £6million per year.

The Big Skipathon was definitely the highlight of the year – with a total of 3500 skips and gourmet pizza for the fabulous team of paramedics. Datcom has certainly scored a fundraising bullseye this time and encourages other local business to support this amazing charity that any of us could need.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance has been operational since 1994 and currently attends on average three potentially life-saving missions every single day, at a cost of £3500 per mission.

Tanya Taylor, Corporate Partnership Manager, Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance commented:

“£2,500 is an amazing achievement and you should all feel so very proud! On behalf of all the team here at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, thank you so much. Because of you all we are able to keep our helicopter in the sky and our critical care cars on the road to bring the equivalent of an A&E department to people suffering from life-threatening injuries at a time when they need us most!

The Datcom team would like to thank all those who helped in supporting our Charity of the Year and we look forward to raising more funds for local charities.
