Challenge

Meddo are a Lincoln based company who repair and improve occupied property across the UK for homeowners, landlords, tenants and businesses.

They contacted Datcom as they were becoming increasingly frustrated with their server and IT network. The system was particularly slow and unresponsive which meant the business was not running efficiently and the Meddo team lacked confidence in the infrastructure.

Objectives

  • Remove unsupported windows server 2003
  • Enhance the existing equipment to make better resources available to the company
  • Deliver a higher level of support

Approach and Solution

Datcom took time to understand the business and listen to what they needed and quickly provided a strategy for improvement. Datcom future proofed the network by utilising their existing hardware and virtualising the server. The virtualised versions of the physical servers have ensured stability and redundancy, whilst providing plenty of space for future growth.

Results

The virtualisation project was seamless and the Meddo team are hugely impressed with the results. Not only was there no downtime but the engineer completed the job sooner than estimated! Meddo now have IT support with Datcom. Response times are absolutely fantastic, we are always kept in the loop with regular calls and emails and feel very much looked after and in safe hands.
