What we are doing to comply with GDPR by the 25 May 2018 deadline
We are preparing for the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming into force on 25 May 2018, guided by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) website and their 12 steps to take now (https://ico.org.uk/media/1624219/preparing-for-the-gdpr-12-steps.pdf.)
The GDPR is the new legal framework within the European Union (EU) which is set to replace the existing Data Protection Act 1998. The government have confirmed that the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not prevent the implementation of the GDPR.
We are auditing the information we hold, the way we process it and our reasons for doing so in order to ensure we comply with future legislation. The requirements of the new legislation will affect all organisation data controllers and processors.
We are Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 Information Security Management System certified. This means that we are already compliant with many of the new aspects being introduced under GDPR. Datcom will be fully compliant by 31st March 2017.
If you need further information or have any concerns then please contact your Account Manager or refer to the ICO website http://www.ico.org.uk.
