Datcom Rewards Alex with Internal Promotion

Lincolnshire-based IT specialist Datcom has rewarded one of its members of staff with an internal promotion. Alex Middleton has been promoted from IT engineer to account manager after joining the company less than two years ago.

Alex Middleton, who began her career in 2015 at Datcom as an IT engineer is swapping technical computer coding for customer contracts as she settles into her new role as account manager.

In her new position, Alex will still be working face to face with clients but with much more responsibility for customer orientation and satisfaction.

She said: “It feels great to be promoted! Luckily, I already knew most of our clients as I was part of the first line engineers team and I have a strong customer service background. Moving into the new position seemed like a perfect opportunity for me.”

After working her magic with computers for nearly two years, Alex is now looking forward to the challenges of a new role. She said: “As a first line engineer I would go on site to a school for example and fix somebody’s computer, but now I’m sitting in on meetings discussing suitable contracts for clients.

“The contract element is completely new to me, so it’s nice to be learning about the process of signing clients up and getting to grips with the legal implications which are just as important.”

The Managing Director of Datcom, Andrew Townsend, said: “With our client base expanding rapidly we wanted to ensure that everyone continued to receive the same high level of service, and so an internal promotion for Alex seemed like the perfect choice.

“Alex is a very hard-working and valued member of the team who is always willing to go the extra mile. Her expertise in customer service made her the perfect candidate for this promotion which is thoroughly deserved.”
